Gargoyles drabble for [info]mtgat: Any Sufficiently Advanced Technology
Any Sufficiently Advanced Technology
het, PG
(Fandom: Gargoyles. Prompts were hands, Halcyon and Anastasia, funny or angsty. I went with angst.)

Winter gift drabble written for [info]mtgat.

The strands of science and magic tug at her. That human writer was wrong; the differences are vast, distinct tastes, like herbs.

When Halcyon shows her the technological advances he's untangled, an entire world contained in a tiny piece of metal or plastic the size of her palm, it takes her breath away. He has strong, nimble hands and sharp eyes, his reserve sometimes flaring into messy-haired exuberance over some discovery.

There's no magic that can halt the disease that starts to destroy his body. His hands curl in spasms of pain.

Magic fails her, and she turns to science.

(It's been...*calculates*...oh my god, maybe ten years since I wrote in this fandom -- I've watched the source material since, of course. Apologies if I've forgotten some major piece of canon.)

I'm still taking prompts for drabble winter gifts. (And adding to the list of 'verses where I think I might be able to write).
